4 Best Cocktail Recipes Using Apple Juice

Apple juice may have a reputation as a kids’ drink, but add the right liquor to it and it can turn into a surprisingly sophisticated cocktail. There are several great cocktail recipes that feature apple juice as one of their main ingredients. Here are just four of the best:

1 Apple Crisp

For this cocktail, you’ll need 1 ounce spiced whiskey, 1 ounce cake vodka, 2 ounces apple juice, and 1/2 ounce maple syrup. Shake all the ingredients, over ice, then strain into a martini glass. Add a dash of cinnamon to the top. This is one of our favorites, as the cake-flavored vodka adds that extra sweet flavor without going overboard on the sugar. It really does a surprisingly good job of duplicating the taste of apple crisp in liquid form. If you’re offering someone drinks and dessert, you could even pair it with a scoop of ice cream alongside the drink to make the apple crisp flavor complete. Overall, a great cocktail for a cool autumn day.

2 Apple Sour

In a cocktail shaker with ice cubes, combine 1 1/2 ounces bourbon, 1 1/4 ounces Marigold apple juice, 3/4 ounce triple sec, 1/4 ounce lemon juice, and 2 dashes orange bitters. Shake the drink well and strain it into an old-fashioned glass, with ice. Sour Apple Martinis are, for many people, the best go-to sour apple drink, but sometimes that sourness can be overpowering. If you want just a hint of that sour apple flavor, this twist on the classic Whiskey Sour drink is a bit more subdued.

3 Bramble Bar Cocktail

In a Collins glass, mix 2 ounces Chivas Regal blended Scotch whiskey, 2 ounces cloudy apple juice, 1 ounce lemon juice, and 1/2 ounce elderflower cordial. Add ice, and fill the glass to the top with mineral water. Stir briefly to mix up the ingredients a little bit. This drink is inspired by and named after Edinburgh’s famous cocktail bar, so of course it incorporates blended Scotch whiskey. It’s a cool and delicious summertime drink.

4 Dusk in Eden

In a mixing glass, nix together 1 large chopped pomegranate slice and a dash of simple syrup. Add 1 1/2 ounces vodka and 1 ounce apple juice, and fill to the top with ice. Shake, strain into a chilled martini glass, and use pomegranate seeds as a garnish. This one is a twist on the extremely popular Appletini, but instead of the overbearing sweet flavor of schnapps, you can produce a more subtle apple flavor. The additional combination of the pomegranate gives it a unique and delicious taste. In addition, we love the name — “Dusk in Eden” just oozes sophistication.
