The Pageant promises to be an outstanding production. First Unitarian Church will also be using this performance to dramatize the efforts of the Racial Justice Task Force to have a resolution presented to the Illinois Legislature proclaiming the first week in January as Emancipation Proclamation Week, with “schools and other institutions in our state [being] encouraged to celebrate the Emancipation Proclamation and educate our young people about its historical significance.”
